measuring board..edit

Post by BrianW »

So after messing around, trying to make the closest to perfect measuring board, I believe I have stumbled upon it. Very inexpensive, lightweight, customizable and virtually indestructible. Hell, it even floats! They are made out of acrylic.

Image

At the point where the board forms into a 90 degree angle, it is bent as opposed to having two separate pieces bonded together. The only part that is bonded is the end cap.

Image

These two that I have are both 40" long, and 4"h by 4"w. They are two different thicknesses of material however, one being 1/8" and the other 1/4". The later feeling more sturdy but natuarally heavier.

If you are interested in one, shoot me a pm. Only one stipulation.. if you want one, I have to stick a PF.com sticker on it for you. :D

Nice measuring boards. How much are you selling them for? Lexan is very durable stuff.

And boat windows... The protect against large waves crashing into the cabin.

Looks good as a measuring board-- Will a sticker hold to it? Some plastics don't do so well.

My bad....It's acrylic..I had lexan on the brain for some reason. They can be made of lexan as well however. And yes the stickers stick very well...

Just a work of caution, Acrylic expands and contracts with changes in temperatures. I don't know how much it would expand on a piece that size, but it could alter the length of a fish being measured.
Looks like a very nice board though.

Okay, ...acrylic (Plexiglass, Lucite) floats? Unless you form a bowl shape, I don't think so. :?

Find a hot tub with 5-6 hot chicks in bikinis in it and then try it. Will make for a better picture.

It does long enough to grab it when you drop it in the water....I didn't say HOW long it floats, but I will time it here in a sec.....If you insist..
