What fly line do you prefer? And why?

Monic cuz it's clear.
Wulff cuz it casts a mile.
I can use both year round without any noticable difference.

I was just looking at the monic with the clear tip. A buddy of mine has it and he loves it.

I just purchased new Wulffs for my 6 and 8. Cast well and can fish them in the "winter". The 8 seems like the Xi2 was made for it, and my casting stroke. Great match for how I cast. They also last a long time.
Have a rio outbound on my 12 that I can cast the entire 120' of with little effort. Also throw a teeney tarpon line that has a bit more finesse on glassy days.
Its all personal preference. What are you looking for?

Looking for distance mostly. EveryoneI have talked to says the wulff is the way to go for distance.

Purely distance, rio outbound. A casting lesson couldn't hurt either.

I notice on the Rio site that they list floating, sinking and 'hover'. What is hover? Mid depth?

I would hope you already no how to spell. Didn't mean it as an insult. The best way to get more distance is through improving your stroke. Lessons are not just for beginners.

Just don't make the guard rails too high. They need to stay high heel friendly.

Hover = 1 ips sink rate. I would be honored if some loon drove half way across the country to do a half gainer off my bridge.
