Middle Fork, Little Pigeon River,
Nice sunny day, bamboo 5wt, #12 March Brown, three Rainbows right at keeper size, all released for someone else to enjoy. Lost track of the number of hard strikes.
The weather finally cleared, beautiful sunny day, temps. in the upper 60s/lower 70s. All the rivers are high and fast due to the higher than normal snow yhis year.
They are still clearing a big rock slide on I-40 and we heard yesterday they had one at Newfound Gap in the park, so there may be a delay in our return to Florida, darn!!

Update,
We went out this afternoon, same place. Cody didn't get to go with me yesterday, today he gets a very nice Rainbow. About 11" . Much nicer fish than what I got yesterday. I believe he's hooked. They were striking all over the place. I was using a March Brown again, Cody had a darker Quill Gordon on. That seemed to be what they were hitting the best. About the time left there was a real heavy hatch of some small (#16/18?) flies, pretty close to what Cody was using.
Our non-resident licenses have run out now, guess we'll have to wait for the next trip. Unfortunately looks like the road is cleared

Just an inexpensive '50s Japanese rod, but I really enjoy using it.
Picture from last year's trip when we didn't do any catching. I really like the feel of the bamboo, it forces you to slow down and take your time. Whenever my casts started getting crappy I had to make myself relax and quit overpowering the rod.
Ready to go back.
