Kayak Lights

The more you can do to make yourself visible in a kayak at night, the better. A simple 360ยบ light gets lost easily when surrounded by dock lights.

I found some LED lights that really stand out and are made especially for marine use. I opted for the traditional Navigation light kit. At $35, it is a bargain compared to a single white light on a pole.
Installation was pretty easy and straight forward. The biggest problem I had was installing the stern lights because I do not have a rear access hatch and the leads, albeit a generous 5', were about 8" short of the cockpit access hatch. I used a double throw switch so that I could turn on just the stern or all.
