EAST COAST BULL@#$%!!!!!

It’s taken me almost a week to finally get around to posting this report but I think it contains enough BULL to be worthy. So last Monday (2January), my last day off during the holidays, I decided to forego a drive over to Weedon Island or Fort Desoto for the shorter trip to Titusville.
This day I would be fishing solo without the usual suspects, so it took a little longer to get everything together and packed in the truck.
Once in Titusville I stopped at Captain Hooks for some local INTEL on the hot spots and to grab some fresh offerings for the fish gods.
I decided on the flats near Haul Over Canal as my spot for the day.
The weather was shifting and the sky was looking pretty gloomy, but I paddled out and decided on a spot to post up. Normally I would spend a lot of time and energy paddling around looking for pushes, but the word on the street has been that the Black drum were in town and were frequenting the entrance to the canal.
Artificials would not be in my arsenal on that day. Found a nice sand bar and hopped out of the kayak. This day would call for some old school wading. I pitched everything I had from blue crabs to live shrimp.
After only about 30 minutes on the scene I was hooked up. It was the live finger mullet that made the connection. I switched on the cam….
Whatever it is not coming in easy!
Closer…….
A quick glimpse in the shallow water….
Finally!!!
I think I will need a better grip!
Mission Accomplished! 44 inch Red, my PB for 2012! Time for 1 face shot and away he went.
Size Matters sorry we didn't get to hook up during the holidays. Justin, George, and Bruno that's how they roll on the East Coast! Hope to fish with you guys again before I head back over to the Middle East this Spring.
Thight Lines!
