Almost died in one horrendous lightning storm last year. Should've followed the forum brethren south.

Think I'll skip a year. :)

I remember that storm and was fortunate to get off the water JUST as the downpour started. ULII and I were facing south and didn't even see it coming up behind us. One of us just happened to look back and decided that it was time to head back to the launch. I was surprised by the amount of water that moved out on the outgoing. It had to be about a 5 foot swing. Hopefully a few forum members will be able to make the trip.

I hunkered under a dock only 300 - 400 hundred yards from my launch. Got drenched to almost hypothermic levels. Kept the plastic bladed carbon fiber paddle against the pilings to keep me away from them should lightning hit the dock. Only other scariest moment was motoring across Florida Bay in just about the same situation. Lightning popping ALL around us!!!

Just lucky I guess!! :)

That storm was the worst storm I have experienced on the water EVER. Scary

I might go but not fish. I don't want to tarnish my winning record.
