Re: Some recent reports from the Everglades.
Ha! You met michealeen! I love her, she is an inspiration to me and also a good friend. That rapidfire solo canoe is sweet. My hemlock kestrel used to belong to her and I got it for a great price,it weighs 29lbs. Yeah, crooked creek is nice but honestly, Lopez is one of my favorite places to stay at...

Re: Some recent reports from the Everglades.
Loved the report and pics! Saw the post of the bobcat on glades go deep. Wild!
Stayed on crooked creek this past new years eve and liked it but not as much as the old Sunday bay chickee. It can get buggy with no wind. What did you think?
That loop you did is a favorite of mine.

Re: Quest for first Bonefish
Dave I've used bucktails 1/8 or skimmer rigged with tip of shrimp or a piece of FishBites. Also have caught bones with Bass Assasin plastics weedless. Krash has also scored with the DOA shrimp which I now have in my arsenal. Another friend has had success with the new penny Gulp weedless. Sure and e...

Tex I stopped at bait shop and loaded up with shrimp. Got to Matheson and slowly worked my way south saw bonefish and prepared my presentation. Shot a perfect shot then notice I can't get my bail to click back! Fish heading for lure I make noise to scare it and bring in the line by hand. AUGH! Had a...

Tex, congrats on the bonefish! I plan to be out there next weekend. You used a J Hook with live bait? Circle hook works best for me.

Re: Quest for first Bonefish
Good for you Tex! Glad to know that someone is seeing some fish out there...it gives me hope.
It took me an entire summer season before I got a bonefish hook up. It will happen for you.

Re: King of the canal
Thanks Cordell, I'll start bringing fishing pole along. Now the neighbors will not know what else to think about me  I wonder if the snook started heading into the canals when the cold weather came to try and survive the cold. Maybe they are still in these areas because of the abundance of foo...
