Sat morning from Ft Desoto, I caught a couple healthy Trout while wading this morning during low tide. Drifted on a flat I usually do good on and saw some big Reds, they were not moving much and wanted nothing to do with my lure. The Reds were all singles no schools. I was looking on my fishing log ...

Catfish and any type of common baitfish such as pinfish don't count in my book. I'd rather catch nothing then have to take a catfish of the line.

Tarpon Tactics help

I want to catch or at least hook into a Tarpon this year from my yak. I'm just not sure the best way to do it or from where. Live bait is out for me but I was wondering if frozen shad is worth trying or if I should just stick to lures. Any ideas or suggestions please.

Thanks

Until about 6 months ago I had a really detailed journal that covered 2 years of fishing in the Bay Area. I had it saved in my work PC and never backed it up. The PC crashed and I lost everything and was really bummed out for a while. I haven't started another one but I probably should.

I have 2 older Stadic 2000s, newer 2500 and a Spheros 4000. I definetely prefer the 2500 because it is much easier to maintain, can take a beating, and I can cast all day with it. The 2000s require much more effort to maintain peak performance . I had my 2500 for 2 years and it feels as smooth as wh...

rod building club

Eric said, Once we get through this hurricane, I will put up a post to see how much interest there is in putting together a rod building group/club. Really doesnt need to be big, but we could get together once in a while to work on a project and compare notes. So who all would be interested in this?...

I usually take 2 spinning rods, 1 is set up for top water and the other soft plastic. I use the spinning outfits to locate fish once I do I usually bring out the Fly rod that I store inside the Yak and wade with it.
