Re: Hells Bay Canoe Trail

You will be parking on the park road. People leave their cars there all the time. You will be fine with a 16 ft canoe as long as you know how to handle it. Water is brackish and water levels will be fine.

Bring lots of bug spray, fresh water and a GOOD GPS. Do NOT stray from the marked trail.

Re: Governor extends State of Emergency to west central FL C

Terry I looked into it after I posed the question. They made $5 billion PLUS in PROFIT last QUARTER. So they do have plenty of $$ for the clean up. Another amazing fact - after the clean up, there is a federal cap of $75 million in liability for restitution to businesses etc. the Valdez payouts took...

Re: Governor extends State of Emergency to west central FL C

IT is an amazing mess for sure. I have my fingers crossed the cap and pump system they are talking about works. The economic impacts could be unbelievable if the loop current brings the spill through Florida bay, around the keys and up the east coast. This could effectively crush the tourist industr...

Re: Leader attaching knot

Uni-to-Uni for me.....3 wraps on the leader and 5 on the line....most of the time is 15-20 # PP and 20-30 # fluoro....must be 100% strong because I've never had a problem with it Same here, although tht slim beauty looks good. I will give that a shot and see how it goes (if I ever get to fish again).

A bunch of charter captains down this way use them, so they have to be ok. I bought one once, and it didn't last long. Must have got one made on a Monday, because everyone else says good things about them.

And Todd's one of them fishing celebrities, so listen to him!

Seriously, the loop knot will give you better action on your jig. As you know, it ain't always the size, it's how you wiggle your jig.

Re: JayB-isms

This place has been quiet for a while. I though about Jay this past Saturday. I was at a neighbor's house and was handed a glass of very nice whiskey in an unusual glass. I scrunched up my face and said "you can't drink whiskey out of a glass like that". I didn't bother to explain the comm...

Re: Daytona 500

I don't know if Nascar is for poor people, since their drivers make a lot more than most others (except F1). But I think there are some jokes to be made about education level, family trees, number of teeth etc. The Porsche driver learned to bump from a Ferrari driver and it cost him the GT2 win at t...

It most certainly has moved to Gainesville. In the last 5 years or so, UM had 1 player arrested - Robert Marve - and he left the program. The Gators had more players arrested THIS year than the whole "Thug Era" at UM (7 arrests at UM in that era, well over that just this year for GATORS). ...
