Looks like you caught the Great Great Grandson of mine.
Image
Of course I caught this one at Oak Island a few (40) years ago.

I'm reading a book on Sea and open water Kayaking. The author proposes a metallic pole mounted aft of the cockpit with a ground wire trailing in the water. He stated that the theory is sound that the lightning will travel down the rod and into the water and the Kayaker should survive the indirect st...

Welding Plastic

I've seen welder kits for welding plastics at places like Harbor Freight. Has anyone ever tried them or does "duct tape a day, keeps the bottom away"? It may not be cost effective to buy a welder for a small puncture but i may be good if you wife uses the chainsaw to convert your Tarpon 16...

Good thing we have rain

I guess with the Belleair Beach sewage spill Monday night the rains will help "flush" the area so we don't end up with racing stripes.

St. Pete./Clearwater Airport

I was stationed there at the Coast Guard Air Station there long ago. I always wondered about those brown fish that I saw from the air.
Now I know.

St. Pete./Clearwater Airport

Has anyone tried the Old Tampa Bay near St. Pete./Clearwater Airport and the Bayside Bridge? I was thinking that the old Boatyard Village area might be a good launch area. I haven't been there in years but from the Google Maps satellite view it looks like there might be a ramp there. Or at least a s...

Go Solar

Have you thought of trying one of those small solar panels from Harbor Freight Tools. They have a small one that clips onto the car's visor for under $15. It should be small and light enough to slip under a bungee-cord and forget about it. This would allow you to use a smaller (lighter) battery to p...

Popping Wheelies

I was wondering if anyone has tried putting wheels on their milk crate? With two wheels on one end the crate could pull double-duty as a portage cart. It gets strapped down to the deck anyway when on the water so it's not going to roll off. If the wheels cause the crate to lean then use it to your a...
