Was that off of War Vet. Park or did you try up in Long Bayou?

I'm curious about climbing back onto my kayak in deeper water... any pointers on how to do so, so that your junk doesn't fall out. Is there a techinique to this, lol. I've heard that paddle leashes help out a lot in these cases. While holding your paddle across your boat stick your foot in the loop...

Just for future reference, and this is the old "Coastie" coming out in me, but you should not have mounted the pulley over top of the Hull Identification Numbers. A hard @$$ L.E. officer can write you up for that. Especially if you have destroyed the numbers by drilling through them.

Velcro

Does anyone else use Velcro on their boats? On my last kayak I had small items like a first aid kit and flashlight velcroed to the inside of the hatch covers. Now that I've downsized and about to rig my new boat. The new kayak has no bungee cords or eye straps and I'm wondering about using velcro fo...

If you are not using a padded yoke then use a Sharpie to mark your twart to measure your catches. It's easier that juggling a "Law Stick", the fish and a camera.
As an alternate you can also mark the deck for those big ones that are wider than your canoe. :D

I didn't have time to paddle so this morning before work and during my lunch hour I ran out on the pier at Weedon Island. The only thing biting were the no-see'ums.

Even more than DeSoto, I got this off Yahoo's GatorBait Paddler newsgroup. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll scare the fish inshore. Anyone want to kayak this Saturday? You receive $150 for the day. We desperately need at least 2 or 3 more kayakers for the swim event. Please call me at 727.531.7999 ...
