Re: on these poles with the handle

do you put the broom handle inside the the pvc and if you cut the end at a 45 wont it fall out i'm looking at the pic and all i'm seeing is pvc painted green. I use a dowel but a broostick will work too. I think with Heywoods, he uses the camera mount bolt to secure the broomstick. I put some const...

I'm not sayin' that a cigarette lighter on a kayak is weird but... :D Nice boat . I have never used that either but I checked it today and it still works. The boat has a central 12V system that has wiring running thru the hull to the stern for the livewell, to the midship for the fishfinder and to ...

Here is a couple pics. I think a key thing is the eye bolt going thru the PVC, "T" and dowel.

Hobie Quest

I do not like the pedal drive Hobies but my Quest (no pedal) has been fantastic for me. I am amazed at the amount of space, both dry and above deck. I can have a cooler, tackle box AND 5 gal. bucket behind me and still have plenty of open space. This boat is just as I bought it used in July ($750) I...

Whats wrong here?

I have a 2007 Silverado crew cab. This truick has the short bed but 4 full size doors. My Hobie Quest seems to ride weird when I use the hitch attachment that puts the rear of the yak at roof level. I have a V pad on the roof of the truck but the Yak rides (leans) to the side. I use the hitch attach...

I pretty much did the same as "Dog Guide" but put a little "hydraulic cement" in the end after cutting a 45 degree taper on the pointy end (to keep from filling with mud when pushing in the ground). I forgot to mention that, I tapped the dowel about an inch up into the PVC and t...

I did the same thing EXCEPT I squeezed some construction glue into the PVC and then inserted a wood dowel (forget the size but they have one that is a pretty snug fit), glued a "T" on top and cut a piece of swim noodle to fit in it so it floats. Ran a long "eye" bolt through the ...

Paddling the 41 canals?

A buddy and I are looking to head down Sunday and he wants to fish the canals along US 41, I am more than a little concerned about alligators but never having fished the canals from a kayak I don't know. How is the fishing in the canal this time of year? We want to find baby Tarpon..are there better...

PEGBOARD!!!

I am rigging up my milk crate and happened to be at Home Depot when I stumbled across the "pegboard accessory" aisle and was dumbfounded at all the new rigid PLASTIC holders/hangers and doodads they have for pegboard now. So I says to myself "Steve, you could use 3-4 of those doodad h...
