Re: 3rd Skrimpin Report

So, did you end up building your own trap or are you still using a dip net?

Re: Carne de Res con Col (Ground Beef with Cabbage)

I made this last night and put it in some tortillas (w/ the doctored up sour cream). It was delicious, thanks for the recipe.

Re: Skrimpin Report

I think I need to figure out how to make a trap... those little suckers are quick. Wait, are we talking about the shrimp or the thieves? :joker: :) Both I suppose. I have been reading Richard Martin's site and it has a ton of great information but I think I can probably make my own trap for less th...

Re: Skrimpin Report

I went out shrimping for the first time on Sat. night with a couple buddies. We had a good time and ended up with around 100-125 shrimp but most of them were pretty small. I think I need to figure out how to make a trap... those little suckers are quick. The night ended with one of my buddies walkin...

Re: D5000

get the D3000, it is basically the same camera without the crappy video. I was under the impression that the D5000 was more in line with the D90. I believe that it has the same processor, 11 point AF system, similar metering, ADR, etc. Is this not correct? You are correct that the D5000 has the sam...

Re: Please help out this newbie!

You could start by learning to tie a loop knot. I use the Canoeman Loop Knot for leader-lure. It is very easy to tie and has not failed me yet. The loop allows the lure to move around more freely which results in more action. Also, I have fished that area many times (mostly in the summer). I have h...

Re: Gandy blvd

I used to launch on the north side all the time. There are fish there... trout, redfish, snook, flounder and all the standard junk fish as well.

Watch the tides because at a very low tide it can be very shallow between the launch and the flats. That mud is not much fun to walk in.

I like how one of the three illumination options is "off"

Seems like a pretty good deal, I was looking around for a headlamp for some upcoming shrimping.
How about THIS ONE

I have never been out shrimping before, but after reading the Ozello Shrimper site I think I am going to give it a shot this year. Sounds like a lot of fun and I imagine it is hard to beat fresh shrimp.
