Re: Looking for a place to start
I'm a little late seeing your post. Mudhole is a great place to start. Check out their tutorials and forums. Depending on what you want to build, their MHX blanks are vary good and reasonably priced. Get Bit Outdoors is also located in Orlando and has good stuff, including Batson Rainshadow blanks. ...

Out of Africa
We just got back from our Africa trip and thought you might be interested in some of the pictures I took. This is actually an intro to a larger video I am putting together for Brenda's class, but all of the pictures are mine. I lost a little in the conversion to a video file, but you get the idea. P...

Re: WTB -- updated Digital Point & Shoot camera
My first suggestion is to hire a professional photographer. Weddings only come around once (hopefully). Also, weddings are hard to shoot and you need to know lighting, shooting angles and post processing. That being said, I have had the best luck with Canon products. I have a new Nikon D5200 DSLR, b...

Re: Need Opinion on Price
In my humble opinion, the Prowler 13 is one of the best fishing kayaks around. With all the extras you have on it I would start our a little higher, around $650, if you put in on Craigslist. I bet you would get a lot of offers real quick. Discount it to $600 for your neighbor, but I don't think I wo...

Re: 2015 Frogman Video
And kayaks with no hatch covers. One kayaker was paddling his swimmer's Tarpon 16 with no hatch covers. I questioned him and he too felt it was questionable but the the owner/swimmer said he'd be fine. One thing I noticed is that some of the worst escorts were people that were brought by their swim...

Re: 2015 Frogman Video
Cole and I were rovers this year, which gives you a totally different perspective. It is amazing to watch some of the kayakers "escorting" their swimmers. Just before the first turn, I heard several tell there swimmers that the next marker was "moving" although it was "movin...

Re: Who'd a thought - OK Zest Two
I thought about a Native Ultimate, but I wanted a sit on top that was self bailing. I've seen Ultimates swamp and it didn't look like any fun. If that happened when my wife was out with me, that would be the end of family outings. I also looked at the Jackson Big Tuna, but at 100+ lbs and 35" b...

Re: Who'd a thought - OK Zest Two
Unlike the OK Malibu's and some other tandems, this one can't easily be converted to a single. It would be possible but you would end up siting over the center hatch. The only way I could see doing it is rigging an elevated seat. With the stability, it shouldn't be a problem, but I still think it wo...

Who'd a thought - OK Zest Two
This is one review I never thought I would write. A tandem? Well, yes. Actually I like to go out kayaking with my wife and she doesn't particularly like paddling around in one of my Prowler 15's. Sooo, as a compromise I decided to add a tandem to the fleet. First, the problem. We are both tall, I'm ...

Re: Honeymoon Island
My son and I were out there Saturday morning and found the same thing. Lots of reds, not to many bites. When we were there, they seemed to be cruising around, not tailing, so my guess is they were not feeding.
