Rik, was the one you had on the Hydrostatic or the other type? I thought the recharge kits were more expensive. The thought of the replacement cost caused me to hesitate, and subsequently required a replacement dagger board instead, ninety dollars plus shipping.

I did not drill a hole. I used one of the adjustment holes on the starboard peddle and tied a short length of line, long enough to lift the drive out of the well, and attach the line to the starboard pad eye with a carabiner. I have the old cam style mount.
