Talked to a guy Memorial Day weekend that was fishing out of Venice inlet and he said there was a whale shark swimming around his boat. He was out about 15-20 miles. The shark was about 20 feet long, also had time to get it on video. Maybe he posted the video somewhere.

Way to go Dad, I'm sure he will look back and remember that day, and the ones that follow. Congrats to your son as well.

In Cuba we called them yoyos . Not sure that makes them a Cuban yoyo, but I'll take it. As far as floating well, so far I've only put my anchor in the water not the yoyo. I can tell you what didn't float, that was the tackle pouch I took first day on kayak.

I learned to fish with a yoyo, and that is what I use to retrieve my anchor line, they are only a coupple of bucks and dont rust (plastic)

I wasnt grouper fishing but caught grouper by Joe Island , there is a picture on 3rd page. We caught another one but was smaller.

This is my first grouper in my kayak, drifting last Saterday in about 6 feet of water. It lived to see another day.
