I bought and used the Pettijean tools a lot when I lived and trout fished in Northern California, but rarely down here. One thing they're really good for is making "fuzzy" dubbing on nymphs and the like. There doesn't seem to be much use for that technique in saltwater flies, although I've...

I started using the furled leaders from Feather Craft in St. Louis about six or seven years ago when I lived in No. Cal. and stream fished for trout.
