Nice report, Jeff! Thanks for making the trip down. I wish the temps hadn't dropped like that or I am sure we would have been able to get more fish into the act. By the way, it's back in the 80's every day now. Hmmm, full moon, good tide, calm, warm. I have the night off from chasing the gill netter...

What type of net did they have? Cast nets are legal and so are seine nets, as long as they are less than 500 square feet and not made of mono-filament. (there are more rules too, but those are the basics) Just FYI. But, if you are unsure of what you see and it looks suspicious, it never hurts to cal...

Poonita search this weekend?
I think I will be going to the creek where I've been finding a bunch of small tarpon lately. I'm in the Naples area. Anyone up for a trip, let me know.

Could you tell us more about the plug? Or is it a secret? No secret. I was using a Storm Saltwater Chug Bug, smaller of the two sizes. At first I was using a red head, white bodied one. I was in the process of landing the largest snook of my day when it and the plug were taken out by a 3 foot bull ...

Backwater Snook and Tarpon
Hi all, been kinda busy lately and haven't had much time to get on the site. I haven't posted anything for a while, but I finally had some time to fish and thought I'd share a little. I am starting to learn my way around my new area a little and I found a great little creek that looked promising. ht...

Re: monkey or myth?
seriously, is the banana thing really bad luck? Or is it just luck that fish are actually caught? I seriously cannot believe you are asking this question? Dude! We caught a butt load of reds in a new creek we had never seen before. Bananas, luck, I don't think so my friend. That was pure angling sk...

I wear the Simms Flats Sneaker. I don't ususally wear socks with them and they are very comfortable. I've used them in the mud and they don't get stuck like sneakers do, in the sand they don't let any sand in, and on oyster bars and they have held up great. I even wore them wading in the trout strea...
