Heading over the Hawaii
Hey fellas, I'm heading over to the island of Kauai in Hawaii this summer and my family and I are very interested in finding a charter captain to take us deep sea fishing. Are there any specific attributes, qualifications, or titles I should be looking for in a captain? Thanks in advance for the adv...

Re: tarpon spotted!
I've never fished Honeymoon Island before, but this sounds real interesting. Where is the no motor zone there? Any recommended launch spots?
Thanks,
Red

Indeed. I should know that, I watch a fishing show the other day that said exactly that. Do Fat snook even live up in the bay?

Oh yeah, best stuff on earth. Got a pound, way over-priced, but worth it.Rik wrote:You did get at least a small piece of their fudge, right?Redman0421 wrote:Kilwins ice-cream.

Ice Cream and Fishing...
They go together very nicely. Took a trip down to a Sarasota beach yesterday. I really wasn't expecting anything to happen, since in the past the fish have had lock jaw, but nature is full of surprises. Using my new favorite arti's, I made two casts and came up with two ladyfish. Whatever. I made tw...

Leaders?
Hello everyone,
Wanted to go after some spanish mack's in the Bay this week. I'm new to it and just wanted some input on what type of wire leader and swivel I should be using.
Thanks a bunch,
Red

Beach fishing....
Howdy fellas,
Just one question. I want to get out soon at the beach and target some macks and some kings as well, but... What type of wire leader should be using?
Thanks,
Red

And thank you, seeinred! In the daylight I saw at least twenty dorsal fins. Nice flats to fish on, indeed!seeinred wrote:Cool! Glad to hear someone catching in my old stomping grounds!
Those little sharks sure get thick on those flats and are tons of fun on light tackle.

Late St. Pete Report
Had a fun little twilight/night fishing Saturday on the flats near Snell Isle in Saint Pete. Fishing a Strike King Glass Minnow on the edge of a mud and grass flat in 2-3 feet of water, I extracted what seemed like every trout in the Bay. All about 15 inches, but all were released to be caught anoth...

Re: DB today
Good report! What I would give to get on some fish. I went fishing on the Bayside today, and it was absolutely dead. I spent 4 hours working every spot and lure but nothing bit. I got back to the launch around 11 and found a high tide massacre. There were hundreds of pinfish, threadfin, and worst of...
