Go out to Wakiva Springs state park...there are a few primitive sites up the river...but no guns allowed. Take backpacker food.

Re: Salt water pirahnas hurting my back pocket......
We've been having that problem with the chewed up soft plastics. It's not pinfish that's doing it. It's Lizardfish. Saturday was like a lizardfish convention out at Dunedin Causeway. At one point, I had 2 for one on a Mirrodine. I use the DOA Shad Tails too and it does happen to me....even on a stan...

Re: Gandy
It's usually a damp towel.....I don't like to lay them on my center hatch or directly on my lap. I'm very careful with any fish. No one cares more about their well being than me. It's just hard for me to wrestle a fish, a rod, a lure, a camera sometimes. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Hg6KA1J5HnI/TKihGWX...

Gandy
Fishing and paddling the south side of Gandy on Saturday amid the boat wrecks and mangroves. Caught a nice 18 inch snook on a DOA shrimp and 2 dink trout. (Can't post the pic for some reason) Haven't caught a snook in a long time....since around March or so. Was a great day to be out on the water......

Oh yeah...I forgot....
If you go due west from that spot (on line with the towers) to the west edge of the channel, and follow that in just a bit, that's a great spot for reds.....

Re: Booth / Boot Point Oyster Hump
There's ALWAYS fish on that spot. I fish dock lights at night for big trout a lot and I'm always amazed at how much they miss a slow moving bait like a DOA Shrimp....I sit there and watch them go for it....miss...turn on it....miss it...his buddy gets it. Earlier this week, I was catching under slot...
