Re: Paddle vs Peddle
I started out for a couple years on an Ocean Kayak Trident 13. It was a great kayak and it's still hanging in my garage. But then I started seeing more and more pedal craft. They were throwing more and paddling less. I fished with a buddy that has a hobie and he calls it a barge. He can't paddle it ...

Re: beach fishing advice!
During the Spring and Fall, I'll head off the beach for kingfish. They are usually close enough for yakers when the water temp drops to the mid 70s. Then in the Summer I'll head off for tarpon. Here's what I'll have on board: 1 light inshore rod (2500-3000) - rig it with a sabiki and a 1 oz weight. ...

Thanks Rik.
You're actually the first to notice my name. It's been over a year since I switched over to my Native Propel.

Walt's big day
OK, I'll play along....since I finally have a decent story to tell. 15 of us launch off the beach at 6am. By 6:15 we see tarpon rolling..but we are all having a hellava time catching bait. At 10:30, I hook up...with a 6' black tip. Hit record on the GoPro and forget to hit stop. By 11:00am, said GoP...

Re: Found some reds, but....
I agree with Joe. Slow retrieve. In the winter time I also use smaller lures. I have some mini mirrodines that work well. Plus 20lb fluorocarbon leader at the most.

Re: Go Pro Advice
I love my GoPro. I mounted it on a 3' piece of 1/2 PVC. When I'm fishing, I have it stuck behind me on my milk crate, where I have a 3/4" PVC zip tied so it slides right in. I have the GoPro setup using the One Button function so that when I get a strike, I reach around, and hit one button to t...

Re: Any Ideas......
Issues? Jeeps are made to haul kayaks, plywood, surf boards, I've even seen couches. Before I purchased my Jeep rack that I use now to haul my kayak, I would just take the top down and strap the kayak on top. I'd get wet on the ride home from the kayak dripping water, but no worries..it's a jeep. I ...

Re: OK Trident 15 Help
I own an OK Trident 13 with the adjustable foot pegs. It's a great boat. Inshore and Offshore, this thing will do it all. Super stable and fast. With some practice you can stand and fish (in calm water). I do not have a rudder and don't plan on installing one....I did pick up a Native Slayer Propel....

Re: Shoulders
Could be arthritis...Could be torn Rotator Cuff....My dad has both and can barely lift a glass glass. He has to use plastic glasses. He'll be getting surgery to repair the Rotator Cuff next month. Get it checked out before it's to late.

Re: Pinellas county kingfishing
Beach launches in our area aren't bad at all. Here's a video of a launch last fall that shows just how easy it is. Usually it's much calmer.

I'm thinking about giving it a shot on Sunday. Any new reports on the area? Also may try under the bridge for some sheepshead.

Beautiful pictures man. The headshot of the red could easily be framed and put on the wall.

Re: Kayak Fishing Canine Companion
I've got a mini Schnauzer. He can barely swim (even with his life vest) and hates the water. Must be the breed or something. I'm sure any small dog would be great.

Re: Aquadream Hooks - part 2
He sent me another set of hooks to replace the new ones he sent me last spring. I'll give them a try. I think it's something to do with the way these hooks attach to the spoon. There was a bit of rust when I unscrewed the screw to replace the hooks. Maybe some sort of metal to metal reaction? Beats ...
