Re: A fishing buddy for next time...

This time of year Buttonwood is slow for Reds, They move out onto the flats on the other side of Sarasota Bay ( Long Bar ). Low tide is the best fishing in that area. Once you find the schools anything you put in them they will eat like crazy. I fish topwater Skitterwalks in Dark colors this time of...

Re: Palmetto/ Manetee river

I fish this area all the time. If your looking to fish the river I would try the mouth of the river on the south side just after the marina and before Robinson Preserve. This area has put some fish in the boat the last two weeks. It is a good area with a south wind. Another area to try is south Palm...

Re: pine island/aripika area

Start your day off from Norfleet Fish Camp. Paddle out to the open water and head south to Filman Bayou. Its about an Hour Paddle to the first opening to the bayou. The opening to the north end of the bayou is after the 3rd point you pass. It looks like a little river going into the bayou. Fish both...

Re: Cabbagehead Bayou

I put in at the middle of the Causeway, About a 20min paddle north east and I was at the entrance to Cabbagehead Bayou. I fished the flat just outside in the Bay. Fish were moving early. But it got super skinny FAST... Had to walk a good way out to get in deep water.

Re: Cockroach

It has always been a hit or miss for me at Cockroach. I find the best time to fish there is on an outgoing tide. I have caught most of my reds in the second inlet to the left just before you go out onto the flat. I hit the islands to the left and seem to pull out nice fish. I have only caught one sn...
