The problem with night trips is that they aren't always the best planned trips.
Some times it's a spur of the moment type thing. Other times they are planned ahead and then ditched at a moments notice because of weather or some dam thing.

I think the 3 pound folder kind is great but I like Steve's ideas too. It's just heavier.
The nice thing about the fold up kind is that I can store mine in a flush mount behind me while paddling.

Had mine for about 3 years, still good as new. The plastic zipper has needed no maintenance on mine. It holds just enough drinks and the top compartment is great for snacks. Also like how it fits perfectly behind my seat. http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o201/cor2ssb/TS3-CRB-DeathNet1-11308-p.jpg...

I got my new battery on Ebay.
I like the other battery pack idea except that it seems like a hassle recharging, but it is cheaper.

After looking at the video again I noticed, when he tipped it up to show the skeg sticking through, that it is much more flat bottomed than my Trident. Being that flat along with being only 13'(instead of almost 16' like the Trident15) it is probably neccessary to have a bigger skeg for tracking rea...

The rudder will swing up easily. That plug would have to be removed along with every thing in the tankwell.

Well I can tell you one valuable lesson I did learn. When you get scared by a loud crack of thunder, don't throw your Pop Tart. Put it in your pocket. You're going to want it later.

Anybody heard from him lately?
I liked his reports from "across the pond."
