They're easier to keep alive than greenbacks. 90% of all the Tarpon I have ever caught where on crabs.

I believe that position of the bait is more important than color. Tarpon are scavengers they eat everything from crabs to catfish. I believe that if your bait is in front of them they'll eat it.
