Re: About time
About time, they cleaned that place up, it has gotten worse year by year. There's also no trespassing from dusk until dawn, unless you're fishing.

Re: Palm river / McKay bay
Good luck with finding a launch, I used to fish there many years ago, launched behind a gas station, but as always seems to be the case they closed it off. You can launch off the 78th street bridge pilings, its not an easy one, but is doable if your kayak is light and not loaded down with too much g...

Just can't see killing something just because it has the capability (even if a slim chance) of killing you. A pity

Re: Camera reccomendations
By the time that day comes, technology will have improved so far ,that you can take the picture with a blink of your eye and print/upload the photograph right out of your arse!(ie a 40 inch snook on a tournament measuring board)

Re: Fishing Log App
I looked around and tried several, none were great, most were too detailed and not very searchable, now I just use Springpad, to make notes, you can insert tide graphics etc. in to the notebooks. I have a notebook for each location, My journal, now is less detail specific, and I make more of general...

Next week, will be 5 years since he passed, hard to believe, its been so long without him among us. So many other great people have passed since then, and I hope Jay, Captain Mel, MarkM, CookNfish and TerryW are up there holding there own paddle-ins and enjoying the serenity they deserve. Re: advantage of a 14' over 12' KAYAK?
Malibu and speed do not go in the same sentence.
14 gives you more space and better tracking over 12 of the same model.
Your ride is perfectly fine for saltwater

Re: Mckay Bay?
Used to fish it regularly many years ago, before the access to the launch was blocked off. It does hold fish, and it does occasionally fish very well, but it does not surrender it's riches easily. Its a very seasonal spot and takes quite a lot of figuring out. Good luck, let us know if you find a la...
