Re: Online Tournament - P-F.Com Redfish Roundup benefitting

Made it out Saturday to take advantage of some intel I got on some reds. Intel was wrong. Paddle-down got one 16 inch red and I only picked up one dink trout. Canoeing the Peace River so I can't make it out this weekend.

Oh well. The donation is for a good cause.

Re: Tuesday Morning Goat Rodeo

So, they are using the Sarasota Bay dolphins as a baseline for comparison to those affected by the BP oil spill. How bad do you think the baseline is tainted by being run down by multiple boats, netted and encircled by, at Buc's count 34 of what the dolphin would consider predators. I am all for res...

Re: An Epic Tale of Survival

When Tom sent me a PM asking if I wanted to take part in this, I was kinda glad I already had a weekend planned that gave me a good excuse to say, "Gee, I'd love to but....." Here's a forum with some more stories and pics (since Tom wimped out on the pic taking department) http://www.mara...

Re: Tucker Carlson is a fly fisherman

That was pretty good. I like the two guys dancing around to see what the other knows.

I wonder if this really was a serendipitous meeting or if he was stalking Tucker to expose the fact he does not crimp his barbs.

Film at 11 and we will discuss on the Situation Room with Wolfe Blitzer.

I would have loved to play. But wife and #1 daughter are going to KC for a volleyball tournament. So I am playing Mr. Mom to daughter #2 this weekend.

In my opinion, Mel Kreiger is the best fly casting instructor- ever.

The Panfish Chronicles - Lake Manatee

Went on a little trip to Lake Manatee this morning. Tried a few different things. Started with a sinking fly, than a popper, then a popper/ dropper. Then back to the popper. The fish weren't too big, but a couple gills did get some size to them. I was really hoping for a speck or two. But the sinkin...

Re: Spring Panfish

Have not been out in freshwater since my last report. But I think I have a hall pass for monday morning and I am trying to figure where to go.

Now that you mention specks, I am thinking of changing my original intent to go to Bullfrog creek. Maybe Teneroc or Lake Manatee is on the radar.

Only works if you false cast 1,000 times to simulate the hatch.

Re: The Panfish Chronicles - Hillsborough River 11/24

No- no indicator. I ran by Flint Creek (I live about 1 1/2 miles from it) and the only ones they had were about the size of small bobbers. I figured the first time I hit myself in the head with one on a forward cast, I would have knocked myself out. But looking at the link you supplied, I see the sm...

The Panfish Chronicles - Hillsborough River 11/24

I made it out to the Hillsborough River this morning for a few hours. At the ramp a police officer stopped by to make sure I was legal, and I was, sort of. Today I fished out of my Step Father's pontoon again. It is registered with a sticker, but he never put the Fl numbers on it. The officer told m...
