Just go to lowe's or home depot, buy the expanding foam, fill the rod holder, let it cure for a day or two, then cut it off. Watertight seal. or maybe a rubber stopper from the hardware section. John

I am thinking of putting in at the camp and paddling to pine key. Would do the park at one, ride with the buddy thing for portage. Looks like 14 or 15 miles. Was wondering best tide to start on. John

What are the other group members using? They would probably be using the kind of kayak that meets their needs. We use ours for fishing, so the touring is not so important. Several paddle sites have reviews of different kayaks. Good luck, John
