Did you set it up for kayak fishing? I am looking at split grips and was going to try the abalone inlay between the butt and first foregrip. I have some concerns about the spacing and the use of enough heat to bend the abalone without torching the cork. I was thinking the reel should sit about 7 -8 ...

Noles, I have a SCIIW blank in a dark green color, looking for a "green" themed rod. Going to try split grips with marbling or the tiger eye (holographic) wrap. Thinking of using the metalic flake epoxy to cover the guide feet. Got any hints? Also need to make a rod dryer, going to make a ...

Just go to lowe's or home depot, buy the expanding foam, fill the rod holder, let it cure for a day or two, then cut it off. Watertight seal. or maybe a rubber stopper from the hardware section. John
