Re: Polar Bear tubes
Cool idea. I have been using large Listerine bottles for many years for the same purpose. I probably have about a dozen in the freezer. They are tough for repeated use and are flat so they stack well. Not to mention minty fresh breath!

Skipper Bay Oct 17th
Absolutely perfect day last Friday on the forgotten coast. In about 5 hours, 4 of us in kayaks caught around 30 reds. All but a couple were slot size. I also caught my personal best kayak trout, a fat 26"er, which I released to make a bunch more just like her. I rounded out a North Florida Slam...

Play by play was great. Had your reference been the Florida game you would have waited three hours, launched paddled like crazy for 10 seconds then loaded up and went home!

Re: No luck on my first couple shots at tarpon!
It's an addiction that can make you pull up roots from Atlanta and move to FL. I believe the addiction part. When a five gallon bucket sized head busted a couple of feet out of the water chasing bait 20 feet away the old heart was pumping. The only thing keeping us from retiring and moving back to ...

Re: I am getting my first kayak Wednesday :)
Congrats on the new kayak. If I'm not mistaken that is the same design as a pre 2009 or 10 Tarpon 120. Great kayaks and a good bang for the buck.
Good Luck

Re: Redfish in Palma Sola
Nice report. I fished Palma Sola and Perico a few times early last week with less than stellar tides. I caught several jacks, a couple small snook, and various other trash on top water. Sounds like things got better with more water. Good job.

No luck on my first couple shots at tarpon!
If I were another guy on this forum, that has much better writing skills than my own, I'd begin with: Executive Summary: 1st attempt at the silver king: scrubbed, 2-3 foot waves tough winds out of the SW 2nd attempt: Freakin' perfect. Flat, clear water. Saw numerous tarpon. None of them liked what I...
