We use the Bounce sheets to discourage the mice at our cabin. When we leave to come back to Fl. , we put Bounce sheets in the creases of the upholstery of the couch and chairs and under the matresses and pillows in the bedrooms. It is very effective.

I have never used the "compact" and I am not sure of their price but the regular unit is available at WalMart for about $20. The Thermacell does work great but the wind makes it less effective. But at the same time the wind usually keeps the bugs away anyway.

I've tried the bugpatch for a buddy who manages a tackle shop. I wasn't impressed.

First I actually had to shave a patch on my arm to get the thing to stick. The first bit of sweat and you can forget about it sticking period. It didn't seem to be the least bit effective.

I went back to Off. It works.

Never tried the Bounce sheets but can testify to the Thermocel working.
I just strap it to the top of my tackle box in the tank well or to my back pack when in the woods.
