Anyone fishing Saturday?

Post by Gh Fisherboy »

I was considering yak fishing this weekend and was wondering where everyone was going. IF no one is heading anywhere I'll prob just head to the fort or finish out the turkey season. Give me a reason to save gas and go fishing!
Fishing isn't boring....you just suck at it.

You might want to stay away from Ft Desoto this weekend. There is a large (close to 100 people) tournament being held at Ft Desoto this Saturday. It may be a little crowded.

Yeah well when you are making fun of an 8 year old people tend to get a little sensitive

Even more than DeSoto, I got this off Yahoo's GatorBait Paddler newsgroup. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll scare the fish inshore.
Anyone want to kayak this Saturday? You receive $150 for the day. We desperately need at least 2 or 3 more kayakers for the swim event. Please call me at 727.531.7999 or email me at collins@...

Thank you - Ron Collins

Hi -

Didn't know if you or anyone you know would be available and interested, but Ron Collins, organizer of the annual 24 Mile Tampa Bay Marathon Swim is looking for 4 more kayakers to be escorts for swimmers and relay teams for this Saturday's race. The race starts at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort just before the Skyway Bridge (St Pete side) at 7:15 Saturday and ends at Ben T Davis Beach off Courtney Campbell Causeway (route 60). Each swimmer/team also has a boat escort but many prefer to have kayak escorts as well.

There is a pre-race meeting Friday night at the Holiday Inn and each kayaker will receive $150 for being an escort.

Can attest that it's a fun event.

If you know of anyone, please contact Ron .. 727 531-7999 or via email (have provided) .. he's trying to get remaining requests filled within the next day or two.

I plan to do my weekly pilgrimage to Weedon island. Hope to be on the h2o before sunrise.

Got a new Mirrowminnow & a bag of Old Bayside shrimp-like "bait" I'm itchin' to try.

That'd be a good opportunity to troll a Yozuri behind a jetski ... :)
