Post by Rooster »

I went out today, the trout action was non existant, however the dink pinfish action was super hot!!! They are hitting on any color exude jerk baits 2x longer than themselves! If you want in on the action, find any grass flat in the Ft. desoto area, and pretend you are fishing for trout using exudes. Bring alot of the exudes with you, as the pinfish that do not get hooked will surely get away with the tail of your bait.
I did manage to get two small trout to the boat, but thats it.

I know what you mean.
I didn't have time to paddle so this morning before work and during my lunch hour I ran out on the pier at Weedon Island. The only thing biting were the no-see'ums.

I fished the east side of the C3 at lunch with a Mirrodine ... nobody home.

Try a white bucktail jig, or of course a Capt Mikes Weedless Willow Spoon. Unless you just enjoy putting on new soft plastics.

This weather is killing me, I feel your pain, just glad you caught something. Where the heck is spring, I heard it usually shows up this time of year. All this global cooling sucks.

OK ? I guess those are some hungry pinfish> But at least you were not replacing soft plastics.....It seems you must have been reeling that spoon very fast, If so, try a much slower retrieve and you should have better results.
I am the eternal optomist.
Seriously though, hang in there.

It was a slow retrieve. How that sucker impaled himself I have no idea.
