HDR Images
Richard: Very nice HDR shots. What camera do you use? I'm very interested in HDR and have only dabbled with it a little. I use the Olympus E3.
Mike: Good topic. Have you tried your hand at HDR photography? Would like to see some, if so.
I'm as interested in going on a photo shoot with anyone interested as much as fishing together. Anytime anyone is interested, send me a PM. Unfortunately, I work weekends now so a Thursday or Friday would be best.

These are some HDR shots I posted on a different thread. They aren't "pushed" as heavily as a lot of HDR photos but neverless, a combination of 2 to 5 photos were used to span the dynamic range needed to cover the shadow and highlight exposure and still register detail.

Nice photos, I'd love to figure out how to made the HDR images like this. I don't think I can do the Over/Under exposure with my Nikon D40x without manually adjusting the exposure on separate photos.
I especially like these, nicely done.

I think you are right. You have the range on your AE Compensation but do not have AE Bracketing.GO-Fish wrote: I don't think I can do the Over/Under exposure with my Nikon D40x without manually adjusting the exposure on separate photos.

I'm hoping Santa will bring Photomatix to my house, if not, maybe after the new year I'll pick it up. Info here -

Photoshop CS2 (and CS3 I'm sure...) has an HDR merge feature also.

Mike, Photomatix is a great software for HDR processing. That's what I bought. You might also want to buy the "Complete Guide to High Dynamic Rance Digital Photography" by Ferrell McCollough. Amazon.com's link here:mikeB wrote:I'm hoping Santa will bring Photomatix to my house, if not, maybe after the new year I'll pick it up. Info here -

http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Guide-Dy ... 140&sr=8-1 Great book. It's what got me interested in HDR. The book break's down the pros and cons of different popular HDR software.

Pretty much so. It gives the basics on theory and how to create HDR photos and gives lots of sample images.rsieminski wrote:Mr Frog,
I saw that book at Amazon, and it looked interesting, but I was not sure if it would be too elementary. Is it for the person who has never seen, or done HDR?
I bought mine at B. Dalton bookstore locally. You could pop in to your local bookstore and check it out before buying.
