I came across these while shopping for a touring boat. You can't drill into fiberglass and kevlar (well, you can but you would void the warranty and create stress points). That was a big deal breaker for me because I wanted to put a rod holder and gps mount on the boat. These items look like a perfect solution and some of you who use fish finders and other electronics can use them on your SOTs.
Yeah, the Johnny Bar is money. It is a little pricey but I bet some crafty folks could make their own for a lot cheaper. Still, it saves you from drilling into a $3,000 boat so be it.
I have seen those on Hook1 site also. If anyone has any experience with them I would like to know. I was thinking about getting one for my canoe if it would work.

hopefully you are right, but unfortunately I dont see one in the near future, but you never know, I might just stumble upon the winning lottery ticket someone dropped on the ground one of these days.
