There's a new kayak in town

Post by TerryW »

I rec'd a replacement hull for my Hobie Revo and sold it to a friend's son and got a second Hobie Adventure. The newer Adventure models have some upgrades I want. I wanted a second orange Adventure, but they don't make 'em anymore, so "golden papaya" it is. She will be christened tomorrow.

Congrats, Terry. Looks great!

I also got a new ride. My 2 year 4 month old Hobie Revolution developed a crack in the well nut location. 4 months out of warranty. At the Tackle Shack, they told me to come out back and pick out my new kayak. Hobie and Tackle Shack rock!

Gary -- Did you get a new Mirage Drive unit or did they give you the new "pin" so your old Mirage will work with the new "clip?" I think I have an extra pin if you need one. (Otherwise, your Mirage unit will pop out of the clip.

Unfortunately, they still had the older model in my color in stock. I have the same hull design I had as before. That's alright though. It will serve me well for another two years. Thank you for your offer.

I see they still haven't implamented your idea, Terry. I think a Ray Cage over the cockpit would save one who pedals major headaches.

Shame on TS. Hobie stands behind their products. I've rec'd several new hulls and each time it's been the newer model.

You're one tough gal to be lifting that beast up there on your own, when you can well afford a Hullivator. nudge-nudge, wink-wink.

So what's the difference between the new and your old boat?

Nice...Yellow kayaks catch more fish!
Being out on the water in the kayak is the prize. Catching fish is the bonus.

It is great that Hobie takes care of its warranty issue. Many hulls have you had to replaced???

Do other hobie models have the same problem

Where did you get your replacement hulls, Tackle Shack or somewhere else? Technically, I was out of warranty by 4 months. I suppose that they didn't have to replace it. It would have been nice to have gotten the newer model. Have you had a replacement hull replaced before?
