Cool looking boat. I wonder, like the Native, how easy they are to jump in and out of to wade?
I have trouble acting normal.

that would be a great idea Todd

My first contention with this boat is that it is a 12fter. As much as I like it, I wouldn't trade out of my 12fter for another 12fter. Now if they come out with a similar model in a 14...then they got my attention 8)
Erick, hope I didn't come off as trying to trash the Wildy. I really do like the design and would love to try it. I had a T140, so no one has to convince me of the quality of Wilderness. Im just trying to ask some pointed questions based sole on observation.
The hull design looks like it should track really well also...do you know if they will come standard with the rudder or will that be an add on...and do they have a price for it yet.

Erick wrote:And so you will know, I didn't put this up for comparison and contrast to the Native....or to get into pissing matches about which is better, you guys do enough of that in other threads. The Native is a great kayak, Wildy now has a new boat to compete in the "hybrid" market. And for some, who are interested this thread will be useful information about a new kayak. I would prefer to keep it to that, if at all possible.
Man, aint that the truth

Do you get one of those cool Captains or in this case a Commanders cap with each purchase??

I heard that you could put a playing card on your paddle with a clothes pin to make it sound like a motor boat.

Dude, my bike was tricked out with playing cards. You could here me 4 blocks away.

I hope someone gets one of these new Commanders and writes a good review.

Got to like the limited edition, I would prefer something 14ft. though, maybe Native will come out with a Tegris 14.5.

I really had my eyes on an Ultimate in the next few weeks, but I might have to delay that, and give this one a test paddle. I know that they aren't scheduled to be released until Sept 1, but does anyone know if there might be an opportunity to test paddle one somewhere before that date?

$225 for a rudder is a wee bit steep to me.

Rudders are expensive to the manufacturer - then someone has to install them. Trust me, there isn't a lot of profit being made on rudders. But, one you use one it justifies the cost, espcially if *you* didn't have to install it.

Agreed Kevin.

In most cases with all of the manufacturers, it is always less expensive to buy rudders, rod holders and the other options later and install them yourself.

Rudders are $225 no matter where you buy them. Most shops will install them for free if you buy from them.
