Maiden Launch of 82 Wenonah ECO

Post by fishindad »

Took the family out this weekend for the maiden launch. At the Alafia River state park there is a hand launch that allows you to get to some of the lakes on the property. We decided to paddle up river to Hurrah lake.

What a beautiful area. The weather was great too as there is not that much shade. It stayed below 90 and there was a nice breeze for the whole paddle. Hitting the shoreline during our breaks, (when with family i.e. 2 kids ) its more about keeping it moving than fishing, I had 4 solid hookups on an F5 Rapala and one on a beetle spin. Non landed though :-(

Anyway, the boat did great and as a shameless plug for Wenonah, they sent me a new serial metal number plaque for the boat! Mine was basically faded and worn out. That was the last detail. I love my refurbed canoe.

Great to see you got it out on the water and got a chance to toss a lure.
Hopefully you have better luck with the fish on your next outing. Also, which bridge is that?
You should be very proud of yourself! That's a really nice looking canoe!!!
