Was it at least attached to a fish at the time of departure?

That's what I get for playing hooky from work this morning. Too lazy to make a paddle stroke to aim the kayak, so the topwater hooked my other TWO rods behind me on the back cast trying to cast from a screwed-up position. Reached back to grab the ONE rod I thought was tangled, and bam, the other one came out of the rod holder too. And right into the drink. Nice Quantum Cabo and Daiwa reel. Water was about 5' deep, with a nice muddy bottom, so no diving for me. Sh$t.

There's a Pentax Optio 20 at the bottom of Joe's Bay, in about 12 feet of water. Could not find the frippin thing.... Gotta get a supply of crab trap floats before I take another camera out there.

That sucks Mark. If I had been with you, you would be cleaning it up right now. If I'll go diving for my anchor,I would have darn sure gone in for your rod.

That totally stinks & I hope you get your gear back. Loosing good gear is PAINFUL.

When fishing for pompano with Hank at the Gandy two years ago, I had put my brand new rod/reel on the deck while re-doing the lure. Hank gets a pomp on that does a very lively flip and "grabs" my line and POOF - my new rod/reel literally "shoots" out into the water. Bye-Bye. Gone.

Hang on to your stuff!

Summer time, 5 foot deep water and you didn't go in after it? I bet you would have if you'd been camping.

Yours was the one I grabbed when I saw the tangle. If it had been yours gone overboard, I would have gone in for it. I have a couple other Quantum rods I can use. :D
