There are numerous ways to make a stake out pole. What are you looking for? Some use simple pvc pipe and others use expensive purchased ones.

Old fiberglass grouper/shark rods work nicely.

I see them available online a few places for $70 + S&H

I plan to just tie a rope to a 4ft piece of rebar inside a 1/2" PVC pipe

That rebar is gonna get heavy.

I have seen people use old ski poles or one piece aluminum walking staffs as well. Our staffs were $20 each.

If you end up buying one, make sure to measure your scupper holes first.

I have 2 pcs of fiberglass rod. One is 1/2" and the other is 3/4" both are 8 foot long. I want 20 each if you need one. Put a PVC handle on it and your good to go.

I have the 6ft wang anchor, they retail for 80, I picked mine up from Mako for cheaper, I like the wang better than my pvc stake out pole but the price is a hell of a lot more.

I have the Stickit pin and a homemade one. I took a graphite golf club shaft and attached a few feet of pvc to the end. Works well

I have an old aluminum tent pole with a solid, hardened end pin meant for sticking in the ground. Works great and cost me nothing as it was salvage.

Not really, it is less than a pound.

1/2" Schedule 40 PVC, or if you can find it, 3/4" Schedule 80, cap the bottom end, insert the rebar, cap the top end, make sure you drill a hole for the rope and seal that up or the PVC will fill with water and then it will be a little heavier. I plan to make a 6 foot length like this on my next trip to the hardware store. Especially since they sell it for something like $0.29 per foot and I have a few pieces of thin rebar hanging around...
