Over every mountain there is a path, although it may not be seen from the valley

so far i have my gear setup and MAKO has suggested some sites to try. I think we will be fishing the south mosquito goon. I only found a few ramps. Haulover canal and another one on the south east side. Any other input is greatly appreciated

Eddie Crek has a nice boat ramp with a ton of decent spots close by. The islands just outside the launch and Whales tale to name a few.

Drive down the Biolab dirt road and pick your launch spot, you can launch right at the Whale tail area, or the sticks - easy to spot since there are sticks in the water. I tend to avoid the boat launch areas since there are strange things that make lotsa noise and smelly smoke.

well just got back from the goon. We fished the south area and put in at eddie creek and fished the whole flat all the way to the west side of the goon. No luck on any reds. It was ovvercast until 11 or so and then the wind died completeyl. However we did tear up the truot and catfish. Got about 10 keepers but all rere released as we didnt have anything to put them in. It was an ok trip but i wanted a red that i would remember for a lifetime. Better luck next time i guess

none at all. Not even the slightest stirred up sediment from a spooked fish

You didn't expect to catch a fish like that on your first trip, did you? Gotta put your time in for something like that...gsellers1245 wrote:i wanted a red that i would remember for a lifetime.

even a 12" red would have been cool, but not even that. Its simply a case of wrong place at the wrong time
