Crab/corn chowder

Post by DaveR »

Posting more food porn than fishing reports due to crappy weather and nursing a couple injuries but here comes some more.

Inspiring!
I just got hit with a head cold and have been in the mood for soup but didn't feel like making my usual Spanish Bean or Minestrone. If I can find my recipe for crab & cheese soup, that's what I'm in the mood for.
Paddles - they aren't just for the bedroom anymore.

Not tootin my own horn, ok maybe a little, but it's perhaps one of the best soups I have ever had. A lobster bisque in RI years ago may have edged it out.
I used snow crab because it was on sale and Publix didn't carry American blue crab. Jumbo lump blue crab would have ben even better.
Hope you feel better Mark.

Ok Chowder wins tonight, except I didn't have crab so I had to substitute shrimp (gulf) and scallops and I also put in brussel sprouts, Campari tomatoes, okra, brandy, Jalapeno pepper, Anahiem Pepper and garlic. Dave, did you forget to mention GARLIC? for shame on you. Anyway my mom said it was great (ok she didn't have to cook) still.
Dave R, Thanks for the inspiration.

Glad you enjoyed it. I made a crappy meatloaf last night. Recipe looked good but I should have stuck with my favorite.
Oh, btw, ya lost me with the brussel sprouts.
