Kings are in

Post by CooKnFish »

... but yet they are out. They have been catching them 3 to 5 miles out and with the picture perfect day we had today, I wouldn't doubt if they pushed out even further.
It wasn't a complete bust.

There was lots of these.

Some of those.

And when they wouldn't hit anything else, a Terroreyz bounced across the bottom got the job done.

But this is proly the shot of the day.

Thanks Jeff! Next time let's go out when the wind is blowing so we'll have a shot at some real fish.

That looks like a hefty bonito. Just trying something new with the terroreyes? How did you know they were there if they weren't busting bait? Fishfinder?

We found a bait pod that was going off but we couldn't see any preditor fish. They wouldn't come up to hit topwater or anything just below the surface so that told us that they were staying deep. I had a Terroreyz already tied on so I gave it a toss and hooked up.

I caught my largest kingfish ever, 48 lbs, snapper fishing by the Gandy bridge. You never know when or where. They are here year round, not saying anything other than 73 is the number when the usually show up in greater numbers.
