Big changes in the bayou

Post by americanrobster »

Kurt Zuelsdorf of Kayak Nature Adventures, along with help from other agencies has transformed Clam Bayou from a dumping ground into a beautiful estuary for fish and birds to call home, and for us to enjoy kayaking through as well.

Clam Bayou is located in Gulfport and has undergone a serious transformation by removing all the over growth, trash, and debris.

Kurt and his crew have done a great job restoring the bayou back to the way a bayou should be.

Way to go Kurt and crew

I haven't fished Clam Bayou since 2008. Clam Bayou is less than 10 minutes away from my dad's house.
I use to fish out there a couple times a week after a long day of work and have caught sheepshead, trout, and have seen many tailing reds and snook pass me by.

The park is only 10 acres and there is a kayak launch ramp with wash down area conveniently located next to the parking area.
At the very end of the video, you can see the kayak launch ramp

Today, I was out at Clam Bayou and took some pictures and made a thread in the destinations section. Click the link and check it out.
