for the Gulf I have Penn:
4 Penn Senator 6/0
1 Penn 9/0
1 Penn Squidder

for spin casters I have 4 Fin Nor but have bought quite a few Jaris Walker reels on eBay. I have to say that for a junk priced reel, the JW's are great. They hold up well in the salt water and I have never had one break.
