Black Spoons.....and others

Has anyone besides redfishslayer have any luck with a black spoon?

I know that he has atleast and im going to be trying one out next time.We where out in Weeden and fish where just hitting it HARD.

Is there any other spoons besides the gold and silver that you all would recommend?

Can I pick two?

Gold in darker water. Silver in clear water.

Have never tried a black spoon. Have tried the white spoon and wasn't impressed.

I caught a 23 in. sailcat and a 22 in. ladyfish on back to back casts at weedon island on a 1/2oz. black weedless spoon. Then Snookslayer and I moved and I didn't use it again all day. I don't know how well it would work on Reds. I read an article in shallow water angler about using black lures. I taped the hook and weedless wire on a gold spoon and spray painted it black glossy and clear coated it. It looked good.

Silver 99.9 percent of the time. Black in VERY dirty or Very Tannin water.

Black does work.

I've caught a few fish on both.

White in the surf for snook in May and June (and summer).

Black works well on reds and other drum species.

I use mostly gold, sometimes a silver.

I voted "other" because I don't normally use spoons....unless Erick makes me do it

I have a couple in my tackle box (just in case) and they're silver and gold.

Can you still buy the black Johnson's spoons?
Used to be a great bass lure to wade with in lake Toho. Chartreuse and black plastic skirt, worked fast over the grass and pads.

I saw Sports Authority had a pack of three spoons a black, gold and I think silver.
