If I'm jungle fishing the groves, I've got a 6' rod that's got the testicular fortitude to snatch 'em out if necessary. On the open flats, I've got some 7' Shimano Scimitars ($30) that outperform my 7.5' Redbones.
So, it depends ...

Not commenting on this in the fashion that I am used to now that there is a way out there section. I do have quite a few 9' ers but then again, fly fishing is for guys with brass balls.

Actually mine is 7' 4". It's a Shimano Terramar 7' 4" live bait spinning rod. I had been using Redbones, St. Croix, and Quantum. This Terramar is the best spinning rod I've ever used so far. I've heard some negatives on other Terramar rods, but with my Stradic 2500 and 10 lb test Power Pro this is my favorite combo by far. I can cast a mile, sensitivity is great, sensitive tip and plenty of backbone, and have managed up to a 32 lb snook while wade fishing.

I heard they're heavy in comparison. What do you think?
