River trent.
Our fishing season for rivers ends on the 14th, so this was my last chance to fish a river for 3 months, this is to allow the fish to spawn undisturbed.
Also, the pike will be getting ready to spawn soon, so again, this would probably be my last time targeting pike until the summer.
after picking up a mate, we headed off to meet up with a couple of others.
The river was up a couple of feet and heavily colored, not bad considering that last week it had burst its banks and flooded the surrounding countryside.
I had brought with me 2 x 12ft rods for the river and a m/h lure rod.
My usual set up for the river brought me nothing, not even the slightest of bites, same for my mates.
I spent time moving between the river and a small pond, the pond actually saved the day for us.
This one took a capt mikes shad.
this one also fell to a lure
I managed to hook up with a couple more but they spat the hook on me.
All in, a good day.
Ray.

Always nice to read your reports Ray, thanks.
Those are some nice pike, slimy bastards aren't they?
You should send your report to Capt. Mike, he would appreciate hearing his lures are going international.
