Well, just in case you wanted to know where I get my allsomeness from, it is clearly from my dad. He is about to embark on an attempted thru-hike of the Continental Divide Trail after a successful thru-hike of both the Appalacian Trail and Pacific Crest Trail. The hike is 2,800 miles and will take him 5+ months to complete.
He mentioned he wanted to get out in the kayak before he left, so who am I to deny the man.
Here are some shots of the day. Ended up with a nice 31 inch snook and some small reds. Dad got the skunk, but he still enjoyed the time on the water. Ran into blindmullet, who was putting the hurt on the reds this morning.
The snook was caught up under the groves with a baby bass jerkbait. Everyone, including myself, was surprised I got him out of there with the light tackle I was using. Got lucky on that one.

Well, darn it. I wish I had remembered that it was YOUR dad who did that great adventure last year. I would have said something to him today. Please tell him good luck and Godspeed for me. I hope you'll post his trip journal again. That's a very impressive undertaking.
btw --- great snook!

And yes, I caught that snook before we ran into you. Gotta keep your cards down until the dealer tells you to show em.

You'll never make it as a guide if you can't even put your Dad on fish......srsfsu wrote:Dad got the skunk
