My month in exile

Post by TerryW »

I'll be heading off to Cayo Costa for one month in exile with no meetings, no CNN (definitely NO FOX), little cell or internet service, solar powered generator electricity, kayak fishing, flyfishing, stinkpotting, shelling and beach walking with my two dogs (and local wild pigs & gators - ouch ), possibly some sailing, and hopefully some catching, good weather, and no stinkpot rescue stories.

I'll be leaving civilization on Thursday and don't know how often I'll be checking in. If you are lucky, it will be often to tell you of my great catching and adventures.

My daughter Linzy and excellent kayaking friend will be joining me this coming weekend and helping me to celebrate #60 on Sunday by paddling to Cabbage Key for an early dinner - cheeseburger in paradise and all that stuff.

There are some plans to fish & explore the area with some p-fers from down that way. Should you find yourself planning to fish the Pine Island/Charlotte Harbor area prior to March 18, shoot me a private message.

Good luck to those in the PF tourney. Sorry I won't be there.

Tack a dollar to the wall for me! It has been too long since I have been to Cabbage Key but oh the stories I could tell. I wonder if Cindy still works the bar.

Take lots of pictures and keep a journal so you don't forget things to share when you return.
Paddles - they aren't just for the bedroom anymore.

A dollar is on the way to CK in your honor, Cook.

Here is my date to Cabbage Key from last year's trip & George the Traveler is going again. He's on a two-drink minimum this trip since he is my boat driver:

Thanks for all of the good wishes.

Although the house is plenty big enough, the frig is teeny. I may have to resort to keeping a fish or two if I can bring myself to kill and fillet it. Just in case, I'm bringing some lemons and seasonings.

Don't ask where I'll be chilling the beer.

Terry,
Good luck, good fishing and happy birthday. BTW you don't look a day over 35!

P.S: Please keep your priorities straight i.e. don't let them lemons or fish cut back the beer space in the fridge.
