Parrot high in a tree

Post by prowler13angler »

The cold wind blew the decision of kayaking today right out of my mind...so we stuck around in some ponds. We seen some bigger bass hanging around on the banks as wells as a few gators.

We threw skitterwalks, and chug bugs for a while but the mid day bite in a lot of small ponds sucks.

On the way out of one fishing spot we heard a loud squawking and after a couple minutes of looking through huge oaks we spotted a beautiful parrot modeling for us...

Threw him a few crackers but he wouldn't come to us, he just flew around in circles about the tree letting me photograph!!

Nice shots. I would think that bird is worth some $$$. I see lots of the smaller green parrots around Pinellas County, noisy little bastads.

Big $$$$$$. You might wat to call around and see if any of the wildlife places are missing an inmate. Busch Gardens and Lowery both have free flight parrots in their shows.

Cool pics. I know what you mean about the green parrots making alot of noise. They are called Quaker parrots.

Dustin,

I actually just got a D80, but don't worry, I sold the Lumix too my best friend who never really took pictures, but is a great fisherman. He digs it and it really did give me an advantage shooting with that, before getting the DSLR.
