peacocks in Miami

Post by yakaddict »

Since I have to go to Miami in April, I would like to fish for peacocks. I have never fish them before. I heard you can fish for them in the city. Any advice where to go is appreciate it.

Thanks

If you google " peacock bass fishing in Miami " you will find directions to many spots along the various canals

Or you can hire Captain Bonefish Wisperer and really see how it is done
Be thankful for every day and especially those fine days on the water

The big chill did a number, but recently BFW has found some very nice lively ones.. the weather is warmin, bringing up the water temps.. so the survivors seem to be in breed mode right now, by April they should be in full protect the fry mode if you can find them.

If you jump on the Florida FWC site there is lots of info on when/wher/how they were stocked, and many places to look for them.. Grab and read all that info, the remember Google-earth is your friend. The further South and west you can get the better chance you'll have. But for a sure thing hire BFW.

I have a test to take in Davie at the end of May. Told the wife it may take me awhile to get back home. Hopefully I-75 will produce a few peacocks for me.

Chasing fat ones in my back yard canal in between weed eating and grass cuttin and haven't had time to check other spots a bike ride from my door. Terrible when I don't even have time to fish, literally, in my back yard!
Again, drop me a pm and will cut the learning time.

You won't likely find many peacocks along I-75. There are some, but not enough to count on.

Well- then I may have to bomb around a few canals before the drive.

Thanks for the heads up.
